NIRAMAYA Health Insurance Scheme

The NIRAMAYA Health Insurance Scheme, supported by The National Trust under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, provides health insurance to PwDs, including those with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disabilities, and Multiple Disabilities. Currently, 240 PwDs are enrolled or renewed under this scheme.

Objective

The main goal of the NIRAMAYA scheme is to ensure that PwDs have access to necessary medical services without financial burden, offering protection against health-related expenses while promoting overall well-being.

Key Features

• Uniform Premium: A single premium rate for all age groups, making the scheme affordable and accessible.

• Universal Coverage: Equal health coverage for all disabilities recognized under the National Trust Act.

• Insurance Coverage: Up to Rs. 1.0 lakh on a reimbursement basis.

• Eligibility: All persons with disabilities holding a valid disability certificate under the National Trust Act.

• Comprehensive Services:

  • Regular medical check-ups

  • Hospitalization

  • Therapy sessions

  • Corrective surgeries

  • Transportation for medical treatments

• No Pre-Insurance Medical Tests: Beneficiaries are not required to undergo any pre-insurance medical evaluations.

• Flexible Treatment Options: Medical services can be availed from any hospital for convenience.
